Are you a single-location coworking space? Tell everyone how much you love your community.

In my daily work, I have the privilege of working with a number of incredible single-location coworking spaces. And one thing that always resonates with me is this:They LOVE the communities in which they operate, really and truly. And I love that.I love the idea of being hyperlocal. Taking a vested interest in your community. Giving back to the people and the businesses that surround you. Doing good and giving back. And then shouting it from the mountaintops. In blog posts. In email campaigns. On social media. It creates an amazing eco-system.Sharing how much you love your community also gives you and your members a rallying cry that everyone can get behind.Giving back to your community and sharing it proudly gives prospective members a proof-point that you’re a local company they can feel good doing business with. And it gives you a hyper-targeted competitive edge and brand identity that national coworking operators have a harder time matching:An authentic passion for and genuine tie-in with the community in which you operate. Why does this matter?I’m a firm believer that people like to support the businesses in their own backyard--especially in these pandemic times when small businesses are taking a hit left, right, and center. So, if you’re a single-location coworking space, become a vocal hyper-local enthusiast. Get involved, and tell everyone how much you love your community. Host events (when you can do so safely again). Profile local companies. Do round-ups of must-see shops or restaurants. Share lists of can’t-miss events. Get involved with local charities and write about it on your company blog. While this might not necessarily directly drive your bottom line, I believe this to be true:Support your local community and your local community will support you back. And that’s something that will benefit you in the long run. I work with coworking operators from across North America to bring in leads using thoughtfully-written strategic content. If you’d like to learn more about how I can help you, or if you’re interested in bringing on some help to hone in on your space’s identity, get in touch with me today. And if you’d like more insights like this, subscribe to my mailing list.
